Cobwebs

Abreast and blue, out of our depth Strained and exhausted, deep in despair We couldn't take another blow, held our breath Your ugly lungs sucked longing for air X-rated x-rays just a hare's breath Oh too little sighs Flagging and beating your chest And then surprise You draw deep and leap with belief Enough puff you clear the air with ease Arise - sails exhaled - float like a leaf Blow us all away with delight as the breeze Those unloved lungs now repaired Unglued unfurled go with the flow Uprising like a whisper answering our prayers Earthbound we gasp and bellow Left breathless and blessed A second wind - with breadth to spare As oxygen fulfils your treasured chest Inspiration -  Afresh of breath air
